In an outrageous and shocking incident, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Dibrugarh University, Dhrubajit Choudhury has been arrested by the Police on Friday in connection with an obscene video. As per sources, the accused was picked by the Police on Thursday. Meanwhile, he has reportedly confessed before the Police of having shot the video and uploading it on some websites.

SP of Dibrugarh, Sreejith T reportedly said that the arrest was made under Section 67A of IT Act. She added that the accused has confessed of having made the video 3 years back at a hotel in Guwahati.

The incident has caused uproar in Dibrugarh University. The Registrar of the University, Dr. Harish Chandra Mahanta has reportedly said that the University authorities lodged the FIR against the Professor yesterday after the accused failed to reply convincingly to an explanation being sought. He added that the decision regarding his suspension will be taken within 48 hours.

The Post Graduate Students' Union, meanwhile, has demanded the resignation of the professor, who has admitted his guilt.
