Dispur SI loots 60 gold biscuits, suspended

In a shocking incident, a Sub Inspector (SI) of Assam police has been suspended for allegedly looting 60 gold biscuits from police custody. Identified as Nipu Kalita, the SI of Dispur police has been absconding since January 15, after looting 60 gold biscuits from the police station.

According to reports, the SI along with Constable Faijur Rahman and Home Guard Afjal Ali, have robbed the gold biscuits worth several lakh from the police station and absconding since then.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered in this regard, informed Dispur Police. They also informed that statements of three people in this connection have been recorded under CrPC 164. They confessed that they have helped the SI in stealing the gold biscuits from the police station.

However, Dispur police is confident of arresting the trio soon as Joint Commissioner of police is investigating the matter.
