Dokmoka lynching: Court records witnesses’ statements

The Nagaon District and Session Court on Saturday recorded the statements of eyewitnesses in the infamous Abhijeet-Nilotpal lynching case. Out of six eyewitnesses, only four turned up to record their statements before the judge on Saturday.

Earlier, the court had imposed charges of mob lynching against all of the accused. The 47 arrested accused are currently lodge in Nagaon jail under judicial custody. The court fixed February 2 as the next date of hearing.

On June 8, two youths Nilotpal Das and Abhijeet Nath had been fatally attacked by a mob, in suspicion of being child abductors.
