Even aftera young boy had been killed due to drugs a few months back in Golaghat and anumber of protests held thereafter, against drug abuse, penetration of suchitems of intoxication into the district could not be curbed. As in an instancetoday, police nabbed two persons along with drugs and syringes in the district.

The heldhave been identified as Mehmood Ahmed and Bitu Saikia. Both of them had beencaptured from Furkating.

In anothersimilar incident, 45 kgs of Ganja have been seized in the Guwahati RailwayStation.Reportedly, theintoxicants were being transported in three trolley bags and have been seizedfrom (DN) Rajdhani Express. The Ganja had been brought from Shillong and wouldhave been taken to Delhi.
