Commutersin Guwahati will soon be able to travel within the city in electric buses. Thefirst electric bus has arrived in Guwahati on Friday.

To reduce pollution in the city, the Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) has taken this initiative. The first electric bus is likely to ply in the city from June on the Kamakhya temple-Khanapara route.

Notably, the ASTC is acquiring as many as 15 electric buses to ply in the City in the first phase. The ASTC is also planning to introduce e-tickets in these electric buses.
