The BarpetaPolice on Friday seized FICN (Fake Indian Currency Notes) worth several lakhs ofrupees and fake note printing machines from Goremari bajar area under thedistrict. The police also arrested two in connection with the seizure.

Actingon a tip off, a team of Barpeta Police conducted a raid in a house to seize theFICN and machines. Police detained Rakibul Hussain and Junab Ali.

Policeinformed that FICN were seized in the denomination of Rs. 500 and Rs. 2000amounting around Rs. 2 lakhs. A case has been registered regarding theincident. Further investigation is being conducted.
