Firing in Karimganj Claims One

In a sensational incident, a firing incident has been reported at Assam-Bangladesh border in Karimganj district on Friday night.

The border police in an operation found that cowsmugglers have entered into Assam border when they opened fire at them.

The incident took place at Border Outpost in Fulkandiarea in Karimganj.

Reportedly, one person died in the firing of police. However,the deceased has not been identified yet.

According to police, cow smugglers have entered the Assamborder by cutting the fencing.

It may be mentioned that cow smuggling has been rising atan alarming rate in the state and one case of cow syndicate is reportedeveryday.

Although, the police are aware of the incidents, no stepshave been taken to curb the menace and therefore, the smugglers are taking thecows in a huge amount to the neighbouring countries.
