Foundation stone for new dental college laid in Dibrugarh

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Sunday laid the foundation stone of the new Government Dental College in Dibrugarh.

The new Government Dental College will offer 5 year full-time degree course of Bachelor of Dental Surgery. The college is affiliated under Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences.

Along with the dental institute, the CM also inaugurated the newly-constructed 300-bedded Mother and Child Hospital at Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh.

Speaking on the occasion, the CM said, "Our Government is committed to provide quality and affordable healthcare facilities to the people of Assam. I believe that the super specialty hospital and dental college with state-of-the-art facilities will significantly transform the healthcare sector in the region".

The CM also urged physicians and medical students to sensitize people about various flagship healthcare schemes like Atal Amrit Abhiyan, CM's Free Diagnostic Services and others which are being implemented to give a boost to Assam's healthcare sector.
