FT Declared Another Woman Foreigner, Sent to Detention Camp

The Foreigners' Tribunals of Assam seems like it is competing tosend people in detention camp one by one before the much awaited NationalRegister of Citizens' (NRC) to be published on July 31 and the additional draftlist of which was published on Wednesday.

After veteran Army leader Mohammad Sanaullah, a resident ofGolaghat Dolly Roy and Madhubala Mandal who now walked out of the detentioncamp after providing requisite documents, now is the time that one Somiran Bibiof Kokrajhar has been arrested by the border branch of Jorhat police and sentto the detention camp at the Central Jail, Jorhat after she was declaredforeigner by Foreigners' Tribunal.

Somiran Bibi, who is the daughter of Lukman Ali from Kortimarivillage under Gossaigaon police station in Kokrajhar district was declared aforeigner by the Foreigners' Tribunal, Jorhat in 2014 ex-parte after sheremained absent in the tribunal for several times.

According to police, Bibi who was reportedly married to IsraelKhan is a resident of Bihar and is currently living at Jorhat. Bibi also had acase registered against her at the FT, Jorhat in 2006 by the border branch ofpolice.

She was however untraceable after the case has been registeredagainst her in the FT.

But on Tuesday, Bibi was found residing with her husband at arented house in Jorhat by the border police team.

According to reports, she has been sent to detention camp by thepolice after confirming her identity.
