GoAir to start Aizawl-Guwahati Flight

GoAir Airlines, is all set to launch its dailyflights in the Aizawl-Guwahati sector from October 4.

Officials from GoAir visited Aizawl to inspect theLengpui airport and to finalize the modalities to launch the direct airconnectivity with Guwahati.

However, Mizoram at present has only direct airconnectivity to Kolkata after Jet Airways has withdrawn its flight services toGuwahati and Delhi in February this year.

Presently, Air India is the only airline who isrunning the flight service from Aizawl to Kolkata.

The officials of GoAir are optimistic that theAizawl-Guwahati sector is going to be cost-effective and popular.

GoAir had launched its operations as a low-farecarrier to commoditize air travel and offer airline seats at marginal premiumto train fares across India in November 2005.

The airline, at present operates over 300 flightsdaily and approximately 1800 weekly flights across 31 destinations- 24 domesticand 7 international.

The airlines have announced that the new flight willdepart from Guwahati at 6.50 am and will arrive Lengpui airport at 7.50 am andthe departure from Aizawl has been fixed at 8.40 am and it will arrive Guwahatiat 9.50am. It is also planning to deploy 320 Airbus in the sector.
