Gogamukh reels under flood

A wave of floods has hit Gogamukh in Dhemaji district of Assam.The increasing level of water have submerged more than 40 villages in the area. Water from Jiadhal-Kumotia and Nonoi has wreaked havoc on the villages creating panic among the people residing in the area.

According to the locals, the water level in the flood prone areas receded a few days ago but torrential  rain for the last two days have worsened the situation and increased the water level.

The rapid increase in the water level in Berbhonga, Komar Sola, Phulbari,  Chutiakari have caused many schools to remain close.
