Guwahati blast | Former ULFA member detained in Golaghat

The Golaghat Police on Friday detained a former United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) member in connection with the blast that rocked Guwahati Wednesday evening. Identified as Amit Ballav Goswami, the man was bomb experts of the ULFA.

Accordingto reports, Amit hails from Lakhibari area of Merapani under Golaghat district.A team of Golaghat Police is currently questioning Amit for his suspectedinvolvement in the blast.

Earlier on Thursday, the Police arrested Jahnabi Saikia Das and 'self-proclaimed' pro-talk ULFA member Pranamoy Rajguru in connection with the blast near Guwahati Central shopping mall in Zoo Road.

Post the explosion, Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal reviewed the law and order situation and has asked the Assam DGP Kuladhar Saikia to speed up the investigation and book the culprits at the earliest.
