Guwahati Gears Up for Shravan Mela

The Kamrup (M) district administration has geared up for the upcoming month-long festival of Shravan Mela (Bolebom) to be held from July 16.

The administration along with the Basistha Temple committee members and Sukreswar Temple committee members have organized a meeting and discussed about the preparations of the festival. The district administration asked the temple committee members to provide the required facilities to the pilgrims and has also discussed about the security system during the festival.

The additional deputy commissioner Gunajit Kashyap has instructed the temple committees and also the concerned authorities to provide drinking water, food, health service etc. to the pilgrims. Kashyap also instructed to install street lights in the area, prevent usage of plastic, repairing of roads, to give fencing on the banks of the River etc.

It has also been instructed by Kashyap that no intoxicants should be made available in and around the temple premises.
