Heavy erosion takes severe turn in South Salmara

Erosion has taken a frightful turn in variousregions in South Salmara like Goladigi, Sotlarpar and Nayapara due to the BrahmaputraRiver leading to a vulnerable situation on Monday.

Reportedly, people living near the riverbank are facing heavy erosion. As per reports, erosion has reached to such extent that nearly bighas of soil in the region get eroded. Due to erosion, the locals of the village have to spend sleepless nights.

Locals have claimed for some permanent erosionprevention measures to take by the Water Resource Department of Assam.
