Himanta launches 5 mobile blood donation vans

Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday launched five mobile blood donation vans at the premises of Assam State Aids Control Society in Khanapara, Guwahati. The Minister also distributed appointment letters to the drivers and assistants of the mobile vans during the programme.

The mobile blood donation vans were launched by the Minister under Health and Family Welfare department, Government of Assam. "These vans will now reach to the remotest village and bridge the gap between the needy and the donors," said the Minister during the launch of the vehicles. He also urged the people in the State to donate blood on the occasion of their birthdays.

Six Blood Component Separation Units will be established in Fakruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College in Barpeta, Tezpur Medical College and Hospital, Kanaklata Civil Hospital in Sonitpur, Bhogeswari Phukanani Civil Hospital in Nagaon, Shahid Mukund Kakati Civil Hospital in Nalbari and Mangaldai Civil Hospital in Darrang, informed the Minister.
