Assam PWD Minister and local MLA Himanta Biswa Sharma today visited the house of the victims of the yesterday's Brahmaputra Ferry incident, which left 2 dead, 2 missing while 22 were rescued.

This morning he went on to the house of Dimpy Das and Ankita Barua, both were students of the Cotton University. He also went to house of Kamal Das of Rajaduwar, who has been missing since yesterday.

Meanwhile the public has vented anger on the ferry operators as most of them do not maintain basic safety standards and callous attitude of the District authorities.

Meanwhile good news is that final death toll is not going to mount very high as so far only one person Kamal Das found to be missing as most of the others managed to swim across to safety.

Initially it was feared that more than 15 people were feared dead. There was initial confusion as there were no headcount. The state government also opened two helpline number to keep track of the missing but till filing of this report only one name had so far cropped up.
