The All Assam Trained Home Guards Association called for an indefinite strike from work ahead of the Assam Assembly elections. The home guards association called for an indefinite strike from March 18.

The association said that they will stay away from all types of election responsibility until and unless their demands would be fulfilled by the government.

The home guards association demanded regularization of jobs and same salary based on the same work.
