Hooch tragedy: Rs. 2 lakhs to victims’ families

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Saturday announced Rs. 2 lakh to the families of those, who died in the hooch tragedy of upper Assam. The CM made this announcement during a meeting in Titabor.

He further said that Rs. 50 thousands will be provided to those who were hospitalized after the incident. He also said that free treatments will also be provided to the patients.

The hooch tragedy of upper Assam is spiraling out of control as it claimed so far 125 lives and threatening to touch 150 as more and more affected people lost their lives forcing the government to rush doctor from Nagaon, Tezpur and Dibrugarh to meet with the crisis.
