IED Recovered outside Manipur school

An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) has been recovered at the Imphal Public School entry gate, Canchipur near Manipur University at around 5.30 am on Saturday.

A team of Manipur Bomb Detection and Disposal squad has safely disposed the IED planted by the suspected underground activist(s) at Kyamgei Loukol, about a km from the School gate at around 10 am on Saturday.

The IED was packed in a plastic bag wherein gelatine explosive detonators with spike and nails were found inside a tin packed.

The police at first used a long rope to draw the explosive material for its blasting. Following this method's failure to make the bomb explode, then the IED was removed by the bomb squad and later it was disposed at Kyamgei Loukol.
