KMSS protesters blocked by police

Police on Thursday morning blocked nearly a hundred Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) and Satra Mukti Sangram Samiti (SMSS) agitators in the Agia area in Goalpara district from coming towards Guwahati.

According to reports, the protesters were coming towards Guwahati to take part in the protest rally organised by the organisation at the Last Gate area in the city demanding to scrap of the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB).

Police reportedly blockedthe seven buses carrying the protesters on NH-17. Police detained theprotesters from seven buses over the NH-17. "The police have blocked us fromgoing towards Guwahati. This is undemocratic," said a member of KMSS. "Westrongly oppose the CAB and we will continue our opposition till the bill isscrapped," added another.
