Kolkata STF arrests Subhash Biswas from Silapathar

Subhash Biswas, the accomplice of Subodh Biswas in the infamous Silapathar incident, was arrested on Friday from Silapathar. Acting on a tip off, a team of Special Task Force (STF) of Kolkata police arrested Subhash from his residence at Manikpur in Silapathar.

The STF of Kolkata arrested Subhash under charges of Arms Act and fake currency trading. He was arrested following the arrest of a Bangladeshi national in Kolkata.

It may be mentioned that on March 6, 2017, a mob that was allegedly led by Subodh Biswas and Subhash Biswas attacked and vandalized an AASU office in Silapathar. Subodh and Subhash were arrested from a village in Bengal's North 24 Paraganas district on March 22, 2017. Subodh Biswas after being denied bail multiple times, the Gauhati High Court had given bail on September 18, 2018.

Meanwhile, police may also arrest Subodh Biswas under the charges of arms supply and fake currency trading.
