LS polls: 39.8 percent turnout till 1 PM

Around 39.8 percent voters exercised their franchise till 1 PM on Thursday in the first phase of Lok Sabha Elections in the five parliamentary constituencies in Assam, officials said.

Till 1 PM Tezpur recorded 45 percent polling, Kaliabor 35 percent, Lakhimpur 42 percent, Dibrugarh 39 percent and Jorhat 38 percent, according to sources.

Tezpur recorded 35 percent polling till 12 PM , Kaliabor 26 percent, Lakhimpur 22 percent, Dibrugarh 24 percent and Jorhat 25 percent.

A total of 41 candidates are in the fray for the first phase of Lok Sabha Elections in the five parliamentary constituencies in Assam.
