Man dies after wrong blood group transfusion

A patient named Sidheswar Moran (75)  died after a wrong blood  group transfusion at the Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) on Friday.

Family members alleged that Moran, whose blood group was O+ was transfused B+ blood group.

He was advised to undergo blood transfusion after he was admitted in AMCH on Wednesday for a surgery.

An inquiry committee has been announced by AMCH authorities and the committee has to submit a report on the incident. The authorities also said that action would be taken against the guilty.

An FIR against the hospital of medical negligence has been lodged  by the family member of the deceased.

Moran a resident of Kakopathar Bormesai in Upper Assam's Tinsukia district was a retired school teacher.
