MHA reviews Assam Security

With Assam's security in question and possible threats to the state, a high-level meeting on Assam security held in the Home ministry, North Block in New Delhi, this afternoon.

Various topics on security and precautions to prevent sporadic incidents in the state had been discussed at the meeting.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh chaired the meeting, where Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, DGP Kuladhar Saikia, Assam Chief Secretary Alok Kumar, NRC Coordinator Prateek Hajela and few other top officials took part.

After attending the meeting, CM Sonowal said that "Genuine Indian citizens not included in NRC draft need not panic. The exit polls show the people's support to Modi and BJP. The Exit polls predict Modi's return to power."

Sonowal thanked Assam Police for detaining the culprits of Guwahati grenade blast case within 24 hours.
