Minorities Will Be Safe from CAB: Ramen Deka

Reacting on Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) BJP leader Ramen Deka said that the bill will be implemented and the minorities will be safe from it.

He said that everyone has accepted 1971 as the base year and that the CAB will be implemented to safeguard the assurance of Jawaharlal Nehru.

Deka further stated that the step has been taken to maintain the balance of the Assam Accord and the national pledge given by Nehru.

However,the bill has not been listed on the first day of the winter session of theParliament which started on Monday. But it is likely to be placed on the comingdays of the session as sources said that several bills that lapsed during theprevious Narendra Modi-led government in the Centre are proposed to bere-introduced along with several ordinances.
