Monsoon covers most parts of North East

The Southwest Monsoon on Sundayadvanced further, covering most parts of the North East region of the country,and entered the remaining parts of the northeast Bay of Bengal, some more partsof northwest Bay of Bengal and north Bengal and Sikkim as well.

The Regional Meteorology Centre(RMC), Guwahati on Sunday said in a press release on advancement of theSouthwest Monsoon and monsoon activities over North East, that the SouthwestMonsoon was normal over Arunachal Pradesh and Assam-Meghalaya MeteorologicalSub-divisions in the past 24 hours, while it was found to be weak overNagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura Meteorological Sub-division during the sameperiod.

It stated further that during thesame period, rainfall activities were widespread over Arunachal Pradesh andAssam-Meghalaya Meteorological Sub-divisions, while such activities were fairlywidespread over Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura Meteorological Sub-divisionduring the same period.
