Nagaland Dy CM accused of violation of MCC

Pratidin Bureau

The Nagaland State Congress has filed a complaint with the Election Commission of India (ECI) and Nagaland State Chief Electoral Officer against Deputy Chief Minister of the State and BJP leader Y Patton alleging violation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

The party has also demanded a re-polling at a polling station under Tuyi Assembly Constituency in Wokha.

The Congress alleged that the BJP leader displayed a party scarf while campaigning at the polling station on the Election Day. The party further said that Patton was seen in a video entering the polling station with seven to eight voter slips.

The Chief Electoral Officer of the State admitted that entering the polling station with BJP scarf was a violation of MCC and said that a notice will be issued regarding the same.
