Nagaland reports three more COVID-19 deaths

A day after Nagaland reported its first death due to coronavirus, three more people infected with the disease died by Saturday evening.

Nagaland registered its first COVID-19 death when the test result of a 50-year-old man came out positive on Friday, three days after his death. All the four deaths occurred in Dimapur district of the date.

Health and Family Welfare Minister S Pangnyu Phom said, "Three more COVID-19 patients succumbed since Friday and authorities were ascertaining whether they died of the infection as they had comorbidities".

The state's tally has climbed to 1,289 after 50 new cases were recorded on Saturday. The state now has 744 active cases while 451 have recovered.
