One dead and another injured after a high powered electrical wire fell on them while they were cutting down trees on Tuesday at the Keshari Polymer Dana Udyog in Kalibari, Amingaon.

The deceased have been identified as Raju Debnath from Maharipara village in Goreswar of Baksa district. The other who was injured has been admitted to GMCH and is yet to be identified.

As per sources, Dana Udyog authorities were cutting trees without prior permission from the Energy department.

Amingaon police have launched an investigation into the incident.

The dead body is currently being kept in Narayana morgue.
