OPDs of GMCH to Remain Close on Monday

All OPDs of Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) willremain close on Monday, June 17 to show solidarity with the counterparts inWest Bengal.

The Juniors' Doctor Association of GMCH strongly supports the decision of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) to shutdown non-essential medical services across the nation from 6 AM of June 17 to 6 AM of June 18 in response to the repeated incidents of violence on doctors across various medical colleges in West Bengal.  

In accordance with the decision, the doctors have decided toboycott non-essential services during the time of the protest. However, allemergency services will be fully functional.
