P K Bhuyan appointed as New DIG of upper Assam

IPS Prasanta Kumar Bhuyan has been appointed as the new DIG (Deputy Inspector General) of upper Assam. The new DIG will take charge today (March 3), as per reports.

The Assam Police on Friday affected a reshuffle in the police department. DIG (Border) Raunak Ali Hazarika has been transferred and posted as DIG (Western Range), Bongaigaon. Violet Baruah who is currently holding the post of DIG (SB), will replace Hazarika as DIG (Border). On other hand DIG (Security) Luis Aind has been transferred and posted as DIG (SB). DIG (Western Range), Bongaigaon Mridulananda Sarma has been transferred and posted as DIG (CID).
