Parking facility to be resumed under Ganeshguri Flyover

Pratidin Bureau

Parking facility under the Ganeshguri Flyover will resume as it was suspended after the triple blasts that jolted Guwahati on October 30, 2008.

Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has decided to start the parking facility after a period of 10 years.

The 2008 Assam bombings, which had occurred before noon in markets of the city, had lead to complete suspension of the parking area fearing any such future incidents.

However, the Assam Government has decided to use the space below the flyovers and all the necessary arrangements have already been taken care of.

The explosions on October 30 ripped through Panbazar, Fancy Bazar and Ganeshguri, which were crowded with shoppers and office goers, killing 41 people.
