Phase-II: 9.8 Percent Turnout Till 9 AM

Around 9.8 percent voters exercised their franchise till 9 AM on Thursday in the second phase of Lok Sabha Elections in the five parliamentary constituencies in Assam.

According to sources, till 9 AM Karimganj recorded 9 percent polling, Silchar 10 percent, Autonomous District 9 percent, Mangaldoi 10 percent and Nowgong 11 percent.

Earlier, polling for the five LS seats began on a peaceful note in all the constituencies in the State.

Few Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) were replaced at some polling booths following complaints of technical snags, informed Election officials.

Polling is being held from 7AM to 5PM in the five seats. As many as 50 candidates are in the fray for the second phase of Lok Sabha Elections in the five parliamentary constituencies in Assam.
