Railway passenger dies due to extreme heat in Lumding

Apassenger on the Kanchanjunga Express died in Lumding Railway junction in Assamon Friday. The death, the official said, had been attributed by doctors to theextreme heat.

Thedeceased has been identified as Taz Uddin Majumdar. He was a resident ofSilchar town and was travelling to Dimapur from Silchar.

Hecomplained of uneasiness and went unconscious when the train was near Lumding,informed his co-passengers.

Meanwhile, the heat wave is likely to continue for a couple of days in Assam as per the meteorological department.
