Ranjit Dass Lays Foundation Stone of Braja Sadan

The Assam government has provided a sum of rupees 50lakhs for theconstruction of Braja Sadan in memory of soldier artiste, freedom fighterBrajanath Sarma.

The government announced the fund on the occasion of 60th death anniversary of Sarma observed today at Sarbhog in Barpeta. The death anniversary has been observed under the aegis of Sarbhog Club Nivia and a bust statue has been inaugurated which has been built with the funds of Sarbhog MLA.

MLA Ranjit Kumar Dass inaugurated the bust statue of Sarma.

Assam Natya Sanmilan's Dulal Roy also offered homage to the freedom fighter by participating in the event. He also offered homage to Sarma in the statue built at Sarbhog by the Cultural Affairs department of the Assam government.

Actor Jatin Bora also offered paid homage to the freedom fighter in theevent.

The 60th death anniversary of Sarma was observed at GandhiMaidan in Sarbhog.

Sarma died on September 12, 1960.
