Ratan Tata and Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurate Digital Information Nerve Centre in Guwahati

Pratidin Bureau

Chairman of Tata Trusts Ratan Tata and Assam Health Minister on Sunday inaugurated a Digital Information Nerve Centre at the State Cancer Institute (SCI) in Guwahati.

The centre shall connect the cancer care unit of GMCH with the cancer hospitals of Tata in Kolkata and Mumbai.

It may be mentioned here that Assam government on Saturday had announced 19 cancer care centres across the state, to be set up in partnership with Tata Trusts by mid-2020.

"This initiative will help patients to access healthcare facilities at doorstep and enable virtual linkage with experts across India for consultation and treatment planning" Himanta Biswa Sarma said. "It is an important step in the government's vision to use technology in democratising access to cancer care" he added.
