Red Horns Division of Indian Army organises a flood relief demonstration in Guwahati

A Flood Relief demonstration had been organised at Amingaon in Guwahati on Friday, under the aegis of Red Horns Division of Indian Army to hone rescue drills, enhance co-ordination among various agencies and rehearse contingencies in the possible occurrence of reacting towards flood like situations in Assam.

The demonstration included active participation from District administration, teams from National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) and Police Representatives. The event was organised to train all stake holders to operate in a synergised manner in disaster relief operations.

Apart from lectures on aspects related to flood relief operations, various agencies made a static display of several equipment. Army team depicted a rescue mission involving rescue drills to save stranded villagers from inundated areas. SDRF showcased their skills in deep water rescue and saving people from fast flowing waters.

The event was witnessed by Deputy Commissioner Kamrup (Rural) along with senior officials from Army and personnel from all participating agencies.
