Sex racket busted in Lakhimpur

Acting on a tip-off, the Lakhimpur police on Saturday night conducted a raid at Banderdewa area along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border and busted a major sex racket and a gambling hub.

Around eight women and eight men have been taken into police custody for allegedly being involved in flesh trade.

The police also seized many objectionable objects during the raid.

"We received information regarding some illegal activities going on in the area. Accordingly, we conducted a raid here with a police team and the local magistrate. Apart from flesh trade, other illegal activities like gambling were also going on", said a senior police official
