Singer Archana Mahanta suffers from stroke

Veteran Assamese folk singer Archana Mahanta has suffered a major brain stroke.

The Brahmaputra Balire singer was admitted to the Health City hospital in Guwahati on Tuesday afternoon. Her health condition has been reported to be critical yesterday but her health has stabilized now.

She is the widow of renowned singer late Khagen Mahanta and is the mother of singer Angaraag "Papon" Mahanta.
