Split in KMSS

Pratidin Bureau

Alleging dictatorial rule of Akhil Gogoi in Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS), Some of his colleagues resigned from all positions of the KMSS and formed a new organization, named 'Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (Progressive)' on Tuesday.

Addressing a press conference in Guwahati, the convenors of the new party said that they were under pressure for a long time as the motive of the movement they had started, drifted from its original track and took an entirely opposite direction.

The KMSS members too alleged that they have resigned from the organization protesting Akhil Gogoi's self-centric attitude and dictatorial rule.

It may be mentioned that KMSS came to national limelight after it joined the agitation against corruption under the leadership of Gandhian activist Anna Hazare. However, KMSS broke with India Against Corruption campaign after some of the IAC members decided to form a political party.
