Tarun Gogoi likely to be new APCC chief

Congress is all set to replace its Assam party chief Ripun Bora and there is likely to be a major reshuffle in Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), sources informed. An APCC member on the condition of anonymity said that Tarun Gogoi will be the new interim president of APCC.

The member further informed that under the leadership of the former Chief Minister, the Congress party will contest the next assembly election in 2021. He further informed that Debabrata Saikia would also resign from the post of leader of the opposition.

On the other hand, MP Pradyut Bordoloi and leaderBhupen Bora will be Assam Congress' executive presidents, informed the member.

Meanwhile, Ripun Bora said that only high command has the authority to make a decision on Assam Congress president.
