Tarun Gogoi ‘not allowed’ to address press meet in Assam House

Pratidin Bureau

Former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Thursday said that he was not allowed to hold a press conference at Assam house in New Delhi.

"For reasons not known, the authority didn't give the consent to hold a press conference here in Assam house. When I asked the reason, they had failed to illustrate the valid reason": Gogoi said.

After this, the miffed Congress veteran had to address the press conference in Gopinath Bordoloi path near Assam house in New Delhi.

The press conferences of opposition leaders were often rejected by the Assam house authority: Gogoi added.

Earlier, KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi had been asked to vacate his room after addressing a press conference in the Assam house premises.
