Three injured in forest dept. firing

In asensational incident, three people sustained serious bullet injuries inNumaligarh area under Golaghat district on Saturday night.

According to reports, for the past two days, at least 60 wild elephants came down to the Murfulani area and started destroying crops and vegetables while some damaged houses. The Forest department personnel had to resort to firing to chase away the elephants. However, during the firing, three locals sustained bullet injuries.

The injured have been identified as Sanjay Kahar, Babul Dey and Chandan Kanu. They were immediately rushed to Murfulani TE hospital.
