Thunderstorm, Lightning Warning For Assam & NE

Several Bihu committees have postponed  the Bihu programs after Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast possibility of storm in the state and its adjoining areas.

As per IMD, Thundersquall (wind speed reaching 60-70 kmph) accompanied and lightning at isolated places very likely over Assam & Meghalaya, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal & Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram,Tripura, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh.

A storm, followed by heavy rains, left several Bihu pandals, houses damaged, dozens of hoardings blown away and trees, along with electric poles uprooted in various parts of the State on Wednesday morning.
