Trade Bandh cripples life in Guwahati

Traders' body CAIT has called a 'Bharat trade Bandh' to protest against Walmart's acquisition of home-grown retail major Flipkart and FDI in the retail sector on Friday.

All commercial markets in the major locations across Guwahati have closed and no commercial activity will take place for 12 hours. About 7 crore small businesses all over the country are expected to participate in the bandh.

All the petrol pumps in Guwahati have been closed for 12 hours from 5 am to 5 pm on Friday in view of Greater Guwahati unit of North East Petroleum Dealers' Association extending support the All India Trade Bandh called by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT)
