Tuliram Ronghang Denies Corruption Charges

KarbiAnglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Chief Executive Member (CEM) Tuliram Ronghangfailed to answer as how the illegal construction of stone quarries is stillcontinued in the region and the reason behind the destruction of forest inKarbi Anglong.

Addressing apress conference at Diphu, Ronghang reiterates about the developmental workwhich has been done by him but he didn't reiterate about the illegal activitiesgoing on in the district. He also claimed that they have not misused any funds allocatedunder Chief Minister's special scheme.

Other thanCEM of the Council he is also an Executive Member of the forest department, butstill he didn't find out the reason as why the forest areas have been encroached.He has also set up stone mining in the forest area.

He alsoalleged that the Taralangso Road which was said to be a project of 25crore isnot true rather, the project is of Rs. 17crore 18lakhs and there is a due of11crore 13lakhs 17 thousand which should be given to the contractors.  

Ronghang alsothreatened the Pratidintime channel and Asomiya Pratidin newspaper saying thathe has filed a 100 crore defamation case in Gauhati High Court against themedia houses for pointing out his misdeeds.
