Uddhab Bharali receives Padma Shri award

President Ram Nath Kovind presented Padma Awards at 2019 Civil Investiture Ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Saturday. In the ceremony innovator Uddhab Kumar Bharali from Assam was awarded with the prestigious Padma Shri award.

Bharali is an Engineering-Grassroots innovator from Lakhimpur district of Assam. He is known for more than 140 innovations like paddy thresher, cane stripping machine, pomegranate de-seeder and low cost incinerator.

Earlier, Assam's noted surgeon Dr Ilias Ali also received the Padma Shri award from the President of India on March 11.
