In a sensational incident a youth attacked a woman and her two sons on Thursday night in Maligaon area in the city. The incident took place in Nalichalpur locality of Maligaon, when the youth attacked three of them with a billhook (Dao).

Identified as Bhairab Das, the youth is currently absconding. The injured have been rushed to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for treatment.

The reason for the attack is still unknown. Police after lodging an FIR started their investigation into the incident. The youth is said to be a drug addict.
