World Tourism Day observed in Assam

Tourism is one of the key sectors that can transform the State's fortunes in terms of economic growth and development. Assam along with the rest of the world  is celebrating world tourism on Thursday. The Tourism Department of the state have organised many events on the occasion.

Assam Tourism development Corporation Ltd organised a bicycle rally to spread  the prospects of Tourism in Assam.

Tourism Minister Chandan Brahma and Chairperson of Assam Tourism development Corporation Ltd , Jayanta Malla Baruah  inaugurated the rally and cycled the entire stretch from Dighalipukhuri to Ganeshguri. Hundreds of cyclists took part in the rally.

The theme for World Tourism Day this year is Digital Transformation. The tourism department will soon launch a  online service and a mobile app  that would enable the tourists to know more about Assam.
