1 dead as Cyclone Bulbul lashes WB

Heavy rain triggered by very severe cyclonic storm 'Bulbul'lashed coastal West Bengal on Saturday. The cyclone Bulbul uprooted trees thatled to the death of one person in the city and causing traffic snarls.

According to a government official, "Trees wereuprooted in various parts of the city killing one person in a renowned club ofthe city."

Meanwhile, the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC)'steams are using high-power pumps to remove water from low lying areas.

"Cyclone BulBul is likely to weaken gradually & move Northwards and cross West Bengal-Bangladesh coasts between Sagar Islands in West Bengal) and Khepupara in Bangladesh across Sunderban delta during next three hours as a severe cyclonic storm," India Meteorological Department (IMD) sources said.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said she herself is monitoring the in view of the cyclone Bulbul.
